    Triton Pool Service FAQ

Typical services include, but are not limited to skimming, vacuuming any debris, brushing, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, chemically testing and balancing the water, back-washing sand filters as needed or cleaning cartridge filters as need.

It depends, our technicians are trained to deliver the highest quality service in the most efficient way possible. In the Fall, when all the leaves are dropping it can easily take an hour or sometimes more. In the summertime, when there isn’t nearly as much debris to clean then it can be closer to 15 minutes. No matter how long it takes, we ensure that you have a clean and chemically balanced pool after every service visit.

All pools should be chemically checked and balanced every week to keep them in sparkling, safe, and swimmable condition. Choosing between weekly or bi-weekly service depends on how much time you are willing to invest in maintaining your pool each week. We always recommend weekly service because we can ensure that the pool water will be clear and safe. If you feel comfortable with testing your pool water and balancing it, then bi-weekly maybe a good option for you. However, with a bi-weekly service we simply won’t be able to guarantee that the pool will always be chemically balanced, as it is dependent on the customers involvement on the off weeks.

The longer the better. However if you can’t run your pump 24 hours then a minimum of 8 hours a day in the summer and 6 hours in the winter is usually sufficient.

In the middle of summer, pools can loose anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of water per week due to evaporation. If you suspect a leak but aren’t quite sure, then try the bucket test.
    1. Bring the pools water to its normal operating level
    2. Fill a bucket all the way to the top
    3. Place the bucket on the first or second step in the pool to ensure the water temperatures are consistent between the pool and bucket.
    4. Mark the water level of the pool on the outside of the bucket
    5. Operate the pool as usual for 24 to 48 hours
    6. After 24 to 48 hours, compare how much the water level in the bucket dropped with how much the pool water level dropped.
If the pool level dropped more than the buckets then it is likely you have a leak.

No, especially here in Georgia, as long as your equipment is running everything is safe. Many of our customers keep their pools running year round because it looks great in their yard and you know the pool is ready as soon as it gets warm enough to swim. Some customers who have excessive leaves in the Fall, or for other isolated reasons, choose to close their pools. It really ends up being personal preference whether you would like to close your pool or not in the winter. Feel free to contact us to discuss your particular situation and we would be happy to make a recommendation.

Well, maybe. While we will do our best to accommodate any of your requests, our schedules are based around when we will be in your area.

No. We believe that a honest, quality service is all we need to keep our customers.

Yes! Finding leaks in a pool is accomplished by two major tactics. Equipment, and expertise. Triton Pool Service has invested heavily in the latest pool leak detection equipment to see where your pool is losing pressure / water, and assess the best course of action to 100% repair the leak so you can get back to enjoying your swimming pool.
